Collect W-9s now, not in January
January 1099 season is painful for one reason: nobody collected the W-9s. That work is easy in November and miserable in January.
Q3 payroll and sales tax filings are due November 2, not October 31
October 31 falls on a Saturday this year, so three quarterly filings move to Monday, November 2. Useful to know, and not a reason to wait.
